A eulogy written by Mandy for Dad's memorial service

My dad was truly one of a kind. I have never met anyone else like him, and don’t

expect I ever will.

My dad loved people, he loved his family and he loved making friends. Helping people

out was at the top of his life’s resume. I couldn’t tell you how many computers came

through our house to be fixed when I was younger, or how many cars he worked on. He

would spend hours and days doing these things for other people and he enjoyed it. His

generosity will not be forgotten.

I am not just being kind when I say that he is the strongest person I’ve ever known. He

never lacked confidence, he was proud of who he was, he was determined and brave.

He succeeded. Whatever my dad wanted to do, he did it. Growing up with him as a

father without a doubt helped my brothers and I recognize our value as individuals.

The greatest thing that my dad ever did for me was to help save my life. I have

struggled with severe depression since I was young and for years he tried to encourage

me to participate in the treatment that would eventually cure me. I cannot express how

incredibly grateful I am for his persistence and encouragement. My life has been

completely changed for the better, all because he loved me and wanted me to be happy

in life.

He loved us all so much… but he especially loved my mom. Often when he would talk

to me or my brothers the conversation would eventually turn into him expressing how

much he loved her and how incredibly lucky he was to have her.

Above all he loved Jesus. He talked of Jesus like he was an old friend of his, and I loved

that. He knew he was saved and he knew of the joy that could only be found through

our lord and he expressed it often. Though I miss him incredibly, I am overjoyed for my

Dad. He is finally home with our savior.
